- have been trained and assessed in soft skills needed to succeed in the work place.
- are closely vetted and suitably matched to each craft apprenticeship opportunity.
- are reliable and committed long-term.
- will be supported throughout their apprenticeship (1 – 3 years in length) by the charity, ensuring retention rates remain high.
These charities will support young people, considering a craft apprenticeship as a route into employment, by providing:
- employability skills training, preparing each person for the world of work.
- careers advice, to help select the appropriate craft apprenticeship opportunity.
- mentoring throughout the apprenticeship (1 – 3 years in length). An external, un-biased support system to help navigate each young person through their career.
Venture Trust Based in Edinburgh. Dallaglio RugbyWorks Based in London, Newcastle, Bristol and Cardiff. Dallaglio RugbyWorks delivers a long-term intensive skills development programme, based on the values of rugby, to 14-17 year olds outside of mainstream education. The goal? To ensure they achieve sustained education, employment or training.
Resurgo-Spear Based in London. Spear is an award-winning programme bridging the gap between unemployed 16-24 year olds and businesses. Spear tackles attitudinal and behavioural issues, and equips young people with the hard skills they need to find a job, including CV writing, interview training and a City & Guilds Level 1 Qualification in Customer Service.

City Gateway Based in Tower Hamlets, London. City Gateway offers pre-employment training and Traineeships to young people aged 16-24, aimed at developing skills needed in the workplace.
