Lucie Graham is a conservator of natural history objects currently based at Lancashire Conservation Studio. Lucie explains that there is no fixed educational route into this specialism, so she pursued a series of alternative training opportunities to gain the necessary experience.
After an ICON internship, the QEST scholarship gave Lucie an additional year to advance her training. This unique experience to train alongside James Dickinson, one of the last experts in the field, meant that she was successful in succeeding him when he retired in 2014.
Lucie is now on the path toward gaining professional accreditation. She is the 2014-2017co-ordinator of the ICOM-CC Natural History working group. Lucie has given presentations at the ICOM-CC and SPNHC conferences in 2014 and intends to continue with the networking and publishing in the future.
