Susan designs and makes both traditional baskets and sculptural forms. Her workshop is based in Gloucestershire and she is a member of The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen.

The QEST scholarship enabled Susan to travel to France and study with Master Basket Maker David Drew on a ten day course. Susan learnt new skills and studied a number of traditional techniques which she has continued to develop and incorporate into her practice.

Throughout the year Susan exhibits in a number of shows and sells her work through galleries. Commissioned to undertake special projects for individuals, she is in the process of making a replica World War 1 ‘pigeon carrier’ basket for a member of The Great War Society commemorating the anniversary of WW1.

Susan teaches both adult and children’s workshops sharing the skills she has gained. Continually working to perfect her craftsmanship Susan is aiming to exhibit more widely.
