Daniel Dorman

2000 QEST Scholar - Boatbuilding
Down

Daniel has spent his life on the water, around wooden boats and sailing worldwide. He worked his way up the ranks in the super yacht industry in his 20s, skippering classic vessels, living on board a traditional working vessel and working in yards.  During this time Daniel gained a huge amount of boating knowledge on a wide variety of different crafts, traditional boatbuilding and repairs.

In 2000 Daniel was awarded a QEST Scholarship to attend the International Boat Building and Training College (IBTC) in Lowestoft, England.  He has a deep passion for wooden boatbuilding and the sea, offering his clients professional expertise and skill in all things boats.

I am passionate about the preservation of traditional boats and the craft. I only use recycled or plantation woods and increasingly try to minimise polluting the environment. It is my belief that we must be conscious about the impact we have on our planet.
