Description
Sian Evans is a British artist, jeweller and designer working in London. Her celebrated and multi-award-winning work over three decades has encompassed many niches in the world of jewellery, from catwalk jewellery to academia, fine jewellery and collaborations with artists and designers.
Her academic research reflects her lifelong interests in archaeology, geology, environment, technology and process. Her work embodies ancient aesthetics whilst being a thoroughly contemporary conversation with meta jewellery and archetypes.
Sian uses recycled gold, silver and gemstones and making processes that include goldsmithing and hand carving Scottish Agates and Jaspers into subtle, smooth forms.
Recent research with QEST into hardstone Cameo and Intaglio carving, with support of a QEST Arts Scholars’ Company Scholarship, has opened new possibilities for narrative in her work.
