Description
Tom is founder of Object Studio, a London-based design and manufacture team who combine traditional craftmanship techniques with contemporary design and processes to create beautiful, sculptural furniture and objects.
Originally trained in cabinet making at the London College of Furniture and having studied 3D design at the University of Brighton and product design at the Royal College of Art, it was at the RCA studying under Ron Arad that Tom’s interest in converging traditional and contemporary was born.
With a 2018 QEST Howdens Scholarship, Tom investigated the casting of metals and the surrounding crafts; pattern making, sand and investment casting, welding, chasing, finishing and the patination of metals.
