Anna Lorenz is a practicing silversmith and jeweller based in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Contemporary silver objects, tableware and jewellery with a minimalist aesthetic and of high quality are her specialism. Anna believes in continuous learning and in the importance to keep developing practical and creative skills. The QEST scholarship has enabled her to challenge and invigorate her practice by studying one year full time for a Masters in Fine Art Degree. Crossing into the Fine Art discipline, Anna focused on sculpture in mixed materials for the public domain.

She has since been selected for the Next Wave project at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and as a result of the exhibition was awarded a 3 year Honorary Associate Membership of the Society. Anna will also be present at the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Fair 2014 in London, where she will show new contemporary silver and jewellery at the beginning of October.

Working between the Applied and Fine Art has opened up her creative practice and this holds exciting possibilities for the future.
