Beatrice Larkin is a textile designer specialising in weave. After finishing her MA in Textile Design at The Royal College of Art, Bea has been focussing on starting up her own textile design business. She has most recently been part of The Craft Council’s Hot House scheme for emerging makers and a recipient of The Cockpit Arts/Clothworkers Foundation Award 2014.
The QEST scholarship helped fund Beatrice’s second year tuition fees at The Royal College of Art, allowing her to focus on creating a successful final MA collection. Recently she has exhibited work at The Heals Modern Craft Market and the touring Rising Stars exhibition as well as having been lucky enough to spend six weeks teaching fashion and textiles at The International Institute of Fine Arts, India.
She has very recently moved into a studio at Cockpit Arts Deptford where she hopes to design and sample fabrics then work closely with a highly skilled mill in Yorkshire to manufacture her Jacquard and Dobby woven blankets and throws.
