Carey is a skilled textile designer specialising in both traditional silk-screen and digital print, based in London and the South West. Her work has a strong aesthetic, combining colour, shape and pattern to produce innovative textile designs. Becoming a QEST Scholar helped fund her Masters Degree in 'Textiles for Fashion' at the prestigious Central Saint Martins under the late Professor Wilson, where she was able to further develop her techniques. Without this generous grant from QEST it is unlikely that she would have been able to financially support herself through this further study and progress in her chosen career.
Since graduating in April 2014 has been working as a design assistant at Eley Kishimoto; collaborated with Jasper Conran to design prints for their AW14 fashion collection and undertook a commission from Holland & Holland, a Royal Warrant Holder, to design a limited edition printed silk scarf collection. Carey also recently visited SE Asia where she immersed herself in vibrant new cultures, exquisite traditional textiles, colours and people which will inspire further projects.
