Eddie was born and raised in the heart of Staffordshire where he continues to work today. He creates a diverse selection of willow items ranging from traditional baskets such as log baskets and berry baskets to woven Stags and willow hurdle fencing.

Eddie started to learn the craft from his late father Peter Glew and is immensely proud to continue the tradition of basket making.

The scholarship has enabled Eddie to learn from a master basketmaker to increase his knowledge in the many different skills involved with basket making. Without the support of QEST Eddie would not have had the opportunity to seek training and progress within the craft.

All of Eddie’s work is made using English willow, the majority of his work is private commissions including log baskets, made to measure items and sculpture work. He has also completed work for Nandos and Eddie demonstrates the basket craft at many agricultural shows across the country, as well as running basket making courses throughout the year.

Eddie aspires to showcase the art of basketmaking in the UK and encourage others to see the beauty of working with willow.
