Fiona Curran
Tapestry Weaving
Howdens
Spring | 2019

Over the past 17 years, established textile artist Fiona Curran has achieved international recognition in the UK, Germany, Spain, Russia, Thailand and Denmark for her work which combines painting, sculpture and textiles to explore the histories of landscapes.

Unlike other fine artists who outsource their production, Fiona is committed to the making process and will use her QEST funding to undertake a two-year part-time course in Tapestry Weaving at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation. Combining these traditional skills with innovative technique, Fiona is focussed on contributing to the resurgence of interest in the use of tapestry as a fine art medium in the UK.
