Fiona Rose is a children’s book illustrator based in Falmouth, Cornwall, where she graduated with a first class degree in 2014. Since then she has been twice published, was awarded ‘Best in Show’ at D&AD New Blood, and has worked with clients such as Oxford University Press and Parragon Books.
The QEST Rumi Foundation scholarship will enable Fiona to return to Falmouth University to study an MA in Illustration: Authorial Practice. This highly regarded course will enable her to enrich the written aspect of her work and produce Bibliotheraputic books for children which deal with difficult subjects such as social anxiety and disability.
Fiona’s long term plans involve becoming a lecturer at an arts university, where she can pass on her skills to others whilst also practicing as a children’s book author and illustrator. This would not have been possible without QEST’s funding.
