Gillian Murphy is a recent graduate from the Royal College of Art where she specialised in knitted textiles.
Her projects begin through a camera lens, capturing the often over looked details in our every day environments. She is drawn to textures in concrete, speckles of graffiti, brightly painted architecture and layers of crumbling paint. Curiosity drives her design process, working with a variety of technical processes. Her design philosophy is simple: to create high quality, beautiful pieces of knitwear, designed and made to last beyond the fashion seasons.
Thankfully, QEST were able to help by providing a scholarship to cover her tuition fees. Without this financial help it would have been impossible for her to study.
