Jack Relton
Wood Work
Carpenters’ Company
Spring | 2019

Initially making furniture for fun on evenings and weekends, often using pallets and rafters foraged from builder’s skips, Jack Relton resourcefully developed the skills to take the plunge and now makes contemporary furniture full-time.

Funding from QEST will enable Jack to undertake his first formal training, a 12-week course at Williams and Cleal in Somerset, where he will hone his craft and widen his knowledge of materials, traditional construction techniques and hand skills. The training will help Jack to develop a craft-focused, contemporary range of furniture, continuing the legacy of British furniture making.
