Jamie E. Murray
Garfield Weston Foundation
Autumn | 2018

Institutions such as naval ships, prisons and boarding schools provide the subject matter for photographer Jamie Murray, who recently completed his Masters in Photography at UWE Bristol. His work centres on the synergy between documentary photography and handmade prints and books.

Jamie’s QEST Garfield Weston Foundation Scholarship will fund workshops in traditional and contemporary processes to help him create bespoke printing methods for specific aesthetic or conceptual needs: photopolymer gravure at Lux Darkroom for tactile black and white images; analogue C-type exhibition printing with Tim Richmond; and photobook making with Alec Soth.
