Jonathon Kelly
funded by the J Paul Getty Jr Charitable Trust
Summer | 2014

Jonathon is a clock repairer based near Birmingham where he originally trained in horology at Birmingham’s School of Jewellery. This follows his interest in mechanical objects and social history whilst allowing him to work with his hands.

The QEST scholarship will enable Jonathon to study a post-graduate diploma in the conservation of clocks at West Dean College in Sussex which will teach specific skills necessary to work within the heritage sector.

Since graduating from Birmingham Jonathon has spent time working in commercial workshops and as a self-employed repairer working for private individuals. His future plans are to work with both private clients and national institutions.
