Mary is a book conservator and a QEST Clothworkers’ Company Scholarship enabled her to obtain her MA in the conservation of books and library materials from West Dean College in 2013. She worked for Cambridge University Library from 2013-2016 before relocating to the USA where she now works for an independent conservation center in New England.
Her specialisms include the conservation of books, leather, unbound paper and parchment materials, and Cairo Genizah fragments, as well as research into conservation-grade adhesives, the creation of custom protective enclosures, bookbinding, and letterpress printing.
