Megan Stacey
Stained Glass Conservation
Conservation & Glass
Spring | 2012

Megan is a stained glass conservator and designer currently based in York. She studied traditional stained glass techniques and conservation at Swansea Metropolitan University before receiving the Award for Excellence 2010 from the Worshipful Company of Glaziers, which allowed her to gain practical experience of conservation in a variety of studios across Britain and Germany.

The QEST scholarship has enabled Megan to build upon this experience by funding the second year of her MA in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management at the University of York, which she is due to complete in October 2015. As part of this, QEST also supported Megan during her eighteen-week work placement at the Burrell Collection in Glasgow as part of the MA

Thanks to the experience this helped Megan to gain, she has successfully gone on to work as an Assistant Stained Glass Conservator at Glasgow Museums, as part of the prestigious Boppard Conservation Project, funded by the Clothworkers Foundation.
