After having completed the demanding four year apprenticeship to become a farrier, Nina’s QEST scholarship enabled her to undertake her three year FdSc Farriery Science course and the two year Farriery Science course at Myerscough College in Lancashire.
The course provided her with a wealth of knowledge and taught her how to assess horses and their farriery needs on a much wider scale. Nina found the course thoroughly beneficial and was very happy to graduate with distinction in July 2014.
With this new qualification she hopes to continue and improve on the work she is doing for the health and welfare of the horses that she shoes. Nina’s next aim is to gain her ATF status (Approved Training Farrier) so that in the future she can take on new prospective farriers and share her passion and knowledge with them.
