Pia Dowse

2015 QEST Scholar - Painting Conservation
South Yorkshire

Pia graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art from Falmouth University in 2010 and in 2012 went on to study a Postgraduate Degree in the Conservation of Easel Paintings at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, Cambridge University.

In 2015 a QEST Scholarship enabled Pia to complete an internship in the painting conservation department of the National Museum of Wales. Here she built her conservation skills to a level which meant she was given the opportunity to work in a private studio in Sheffield for three years. Having gained valuable skills and knowledge both in the public museum and private practice sector, Pia moved to Amsterdam at the start of 2020 to work in a private painting conservation studio, conserving paintings from both museums and private clients.  She continues work in this studio, while also making and exhibiting her own paintings.
