Samantha Cawson

2014 QEST Almary Green Awards Scholar - Paper Conservation
London

Samantha is a paper conservator, artist and curator. To gain valuable experience of conserving paper records, 19th century architectural drawings and photographic slides, Samantha worked with a number of organisations such as The Children’s Society Archives, The Royal Collection Trust and the Horniman Museum and Gardens. After gaining an MA in Conservation from the Camberwell College of Arts, a QEST Almary Green Awards Scholarship enabled her to take up an internship at The Teylers Museum in the Netherlands under the supervision of Robien van Gulik, the Head of Conservation. The placement provided Samantha with essential experience of working with a variety of objects and on a major exhibition, as well as building crucial links with other institutions abroad within the heritage sector.
