Following a degree in Fine Art, Zoe trained as a stone mason. Discovering a love for stone she worked hard to develop her skills. In 2013 Zoe gained a place at the prestigious City and Guilds of London Art school to study historical stone carving on a three year diploma course. Although she had saved carefully before enrolling she didn’t have sufficient funds to support her move to London and see her through to the end of the course. The QEST scholarship has given Zoe the financial help needed to do this, allowing her to focus all of her energy on her learning.
Since receiving the scholarship Zoe successfully completed her first year of the course. She has spent the summer working hard in her old workshop to finish masonry needed for a large extension to a country house in Shropshire. Zoe is eager to get back to college to continue learning exciting new skills.
