Jay Blades divides his time between being a presenter on the BBC with having his own successful business in modern furniture restoration, Jay & Co.  He was a co-founder of award-winning social enterprises Out of The Dark and Street Dreams and works with a number of charitable organisations through his academy.

A modern furniture restorer, upcycler and eco-designer, Jay is passionate about sustainability and the environment. He sources vintage and beautifully crafted pieces of furniture and reimagines them into works of contemporary design. He pours his heart and soul into each creation and over the years has become renowned for his unique style. He is a mainly self-taught craftsman but has been incredibly lucky to have had guidance from some masters in the art of restoration over the years.
