2013 QEST Scholarship - Goldsmithing & Pen Making
Derbyshire

Jack presents collections of limited edition fountain pens, roller-balls and cuff-links in addition to producing bespoke, commissioned pieces. His design inspiration is primarily drawn from art and design, with a particular fondness for Gothic and Islamic architecture. His début collection was launched at Harrods and his work can be found in the collections of business leaders, artists and the British Royal Family, to name but a few.

Jack began his career in 2000, training under master goldsmith, Harry Forster-Stringer. He is a graduate of the Birmingham School of Jewellery, a Balvenie Master of Craft and professionally accredited as a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths. His QEST Scholarship enabled him to explore the traditional craft of hand-engraving and gem-setting, with a focus on the use of precision optical equipment. This new approach has revolutionised his professional practice.

As a British crafts-person and designer, my foremost aim is to produce innovative, beautiful and extraordinary products, which are of the uppermost quality in both materials and design. I take great pride in the knowledge that the pieces I design and make will be valued as works of art, as much as functional items, to be passed down from generation to generation.
