Laura gained a First Class Honours Degree in Bookbinding from Roehampton Institute in London. She then used her QEST Scholarship to study advanced techniques with three exceptional practitioners, and to examine Scottish bindings and historic stationery bindings from across Britain. This important opportunity has cemented the foundation of her work and helped to establish her reputation.
Laura is an enthusiastic binder of fine stationery binding, of otherwise ‘working’ books, such as ledgers, log books, visitors’ books, presentation books, limited edition folders and portfolios. With the practical experience of a print, graphic design and television background, Laura can provide contemporary designers innovative solutions to complex structures.
Her books are found not in collections but in homes and venues across Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East. Clients include Alexander McQueen, The British Library, Diageo, English Heritage, and Linn Products, alongside many private commissions.
