Applications now open for QEST funding

Applications are now open for QEST’s Autumn funding round.
We’re looking for talented makers living and working in the UK who want to hone their skills and elevate their craft to apply for our Scholarship, Emerging Maker Grant and Apprenticeship funding.
Applications close on August 12 at 5pm and awards are made in November.

Scholarships
Makers can apply for up to £18,000 for training and education. We want to sustain vital skills in traditional and contemporary crafts and contribute to excellence in the British craft industry.
The training can take many forms, from traditional college courses to vocational one-on-one training with a master craftsperson, or a bespoke programme of short courses.
Successful applicants will also receive a funded place on the Cockpit Professional Development Programme.
To support applicants in preparing their application, we will hold a Zoom session on Wednesday July 17 at 1pm.

Emerging Maker Grants
This new grant provides funding of up to £10,000 to committed makers who have been practising professionally for four years or less and who have a strong connection to materials, technical skills and processes.
The funding specifically supports training and education programmes to help makers enhance their craft skills and advance their careers.
To support applicants in preparing their application, we will hold a Zoom session on Thursday July 18 at 1pm.

Apprenticeships
Funding of up to £12,000 over two to three years, up to a maximum of £6000 per year, to contribute to the apprentice’s salary, ensuring they receive at least the minimum wage.
The application process for a QEST Apprenticeship involves a collaborative effort between an organisation or master and the individual apprentice. It is a joint application that demonstrates the commitment of both parties to the development and growth of the apprentice’s craft skills.
