An Introduction to Paper Folding with Kate Colin

£314This course is suitable for beginners and anyone interested in three-dimensional form and working with paper as a base material. You will cover the basic principles of paper folding and learn the necessary techniques required to create a range of complex structures. You will explore the various processes required to produce linear and diagonal divisions, V-folds and spiral folds and be given the opportunity to experiment, create your own designs and make some functional products.
You will be provided with a range of high-quality coloured papers and be introduced to a brief history of folding and the work of several contemporary paper and origami artists to examine how folding is used in fashion, architecture and design.
As part of the course, you will work on several personal projects and on completion, will be equipped with the skills and confidence to continue to fold independently and be able apply your newly acquired skills to your own practice.
