Behind the Scenes Studio Visits: Rodney Harris

This event offers the chance to explore brick sculptor Rodney Harris’ studio and view works-in-progress during an informal virtual visit. Rodney will give a brief introduction to his practice followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion via the online chat.

Rodney Harris works with natural materials in sculpture, education, printmaking and live art, often collaborating with different disciplines, addressing environmental and social issues.

Previously he undertook a long-term residency with Knowle West Children’s Centre and was the Leverhulme Artist in Residence at Bristol University. He also co-founded the Earth Art Gallery at the University following his residency.

His long-term collaboration with artist Valda Jackson – Jackson&Harris – is currently commissioned by Peabody In London for Espalier, a 17-metre wide relief sculpture of a community tree for the Community Centre on the Peabody Estate in St John’s Hill, currently in production at Spike Island and due for installation in summer 2021.
