Book Binding with Felicity Bristow

Join us at the Central Scotland School of Craft for this half day bookbinding class and learn how to make a fabulous and funky, A5 size, recycled rubber covered journal or sketchbook using the coptic stitch, on of the most ancient methods of binding books. This style of stitch allows you to construct a book which opens out completely flat and is great for sketching and writing in and when it is closed you see the linen stitch on the spine. The durable rubber cover makes a practical sketch book, personalised with your own contrasting linen stitch. All tools are provided for use on your bookbinding class and materials are included to make one A5 book to take home and treasure. There is the option on the day to purchase tools to take home and continue crafting!

Felicity Bristow started But n Ben Bindery & Press in 2012 after falling in love with hand binding books and printmaking at Edinburgh College of Art. Since discovering the beauty of how a book is constructed and printed, the book form has become an integral part of her creative practice.
