Drawn + Formed: Contemporary Work with Gold and Silver Wire

June 16th 2022 - September 15th 2022

Discover contemporary jewellery, silversmithing and metal embroidery made with hand-drawn wire, presented in partnership with The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers.

The craft of hand-drawing and using gold or silver round or flattened wire has a rich heritage. Craftspeople continue to learn and evolve this traditional skill, adapting it to the designs of today.

The exhibition, Drawn and Formed, will bring together a wide selection of craft work, from the intricate and beautiful jewellery of Andrew Lamb to the delicate detailed embroidery designs of Laura Baverstock and includes work by QEST D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust Scholar Kate Pankhurst. It will provide a unique insight into the process of drawing and working with wire; and will celebrate the very best UK craftspeople against a backdrop of historic work.
