QEST @ National Festival of Making 2025
July 5th 2025 - July 6th 2025

The National Festival of Making is a unique celebration of making, from the kitchen table to the factory floor. Presenting a programme of work that combines art, manufacturing, making and communities, we commission international and national artists to create world class works, a year round programme and a participatory free family festival for all to enjoy.
In 2024, QEST were in the Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery, hosting drop-in craft workshops with Emerging Maker Annahieta Seyed Alizadeh Oskooi for a family friendly introduction to signwriting and gilding, inspired by the museum’s Egyptian artefacts. We also promoted the Blackburn Craft&Making Saturday Club for 13-16-year-olds.
In 2025 we’re joined by two QEST Alumni!
- Saturday: Meet weaver Jackie Stephens and get hands-on with wool, making mini blankets for sheep and llamas.
- Sunday: Sculptor Alice Cunningham will guide you in making colourful clay creatures inspired by the museum’s collection.
