QEST @ National Festival of Making
July 6th 2024 - July 7th 2024
The National Festival of Making is a unique celebration of making, from the kitchen table to the factory floor – held across Blackburn town centre from Saturday 6 to Sunday 7 July.
Find QEST in the Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery, where we will be hosting drop-in craft workshops with Emerging Maker Annahieta Seyed Alizadeh Oskooi for a family friendly introduction to signwriting and gilding, inspired by the museum’s Egyptian artefacts.
Our team will also be promoting the Blackburn Craft&Making Saturday Club for 13-16-year-olds. Held at the museum, the next club will run from September 2024 to July 2025.
Other highlights of the free family festival include the Art in Manufacturing commissioning programme – providing artists with a platform to make new work in and alongside some of the UK’s leading manufacturers; makers markets – including a professional makers market curated by Hopeful & Glorious; family-friendly bookable and drop-in craft workshops; artist talks; street performances and more.
