Raised Embroidery Mistletoe Kiss Workshop with Kate Pankhurst

Feel the love this Christmas with our exclusive Raised Embroidery “Mistletoe Kiss”. It is perfect as a tree decoration, and with an additional pin you can wear it on your hat or the lapel of your winter coat! Treasure it yourself, or give as a unique and personal gift to a loved one.
Created as a realistic three-dimensional Raised Embroidery piece from wired poly cotton, stranded thread, wooden beads, seed beads, fine metal thread and finished off with a glittering silver lamé ribbon.
In this class you will learn the technique of trailing worked by using neat over stitches to attach the wire to the fabric. The outer edges are then glued, dried and trimmed. Finally, the whole leaf is bound with Buttonhole Stitch. The berries are covered with white thread, and a final flourish of silver ensures it will catch the light. All the leaves and berries are then wrapped together and teased into shape to create a beautiful and realistic sprig of Mistletoe.
The class is split into 2 x 2 hour sessions with plenty of opportunity to complete homework following each session. The third and final 1 hour session will allow you to bring together all the elements and turn this sprig of Mistletoe into a decoration or a wearable piece.
There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.

The class kit will be posted out to you. The kit includes all the materials you require to complete the project. It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes and a pair of embroidery scissors and an 8″ hoop will be needed.
