Re-formation with Joanna Manousis

Re-Formation is a wearable art exhibition curated by Erica Rosenfeld and featuring work by QEST Scholar Joanna Manousis. The show includes sixteen artists whose practice employs glass and mixed media in sculpture, installation, performance and functional design.  Rosenfeld asked each of them to re-imagine their work as jewellery, looking at the function of material and the relationship of value and adornment.  Some of them have never made wearable works, while for others jewellery is the main focus of their practice.

Rosenfeld calls jewellery “a form of expression — by both the maker & the wearer — that can tell stories about history, tradition, culture, desire, memory, class, ritual, and human connections.  In bringing this diverse group of artists together, my hope is that the dialogue between their work will convey some of these themes.”
