Kate Hobhouse Joins QEST’s Board of Trustees
4th February 2026
We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Hobhouse as a QEST Trustee. Kate Hobhouse holds the position of Deputy Chair of Fortnum & Mason. Prior to this, Kate was Chair, a role she held from 2008-2025.
Kate shares, “I have long been an admirer and supporter of QEST both privately and professionally. Fortnum & Mason has been delighted to host exhibitions of Alumni work. I am so excited and honoured to join the board of Trustees.”
Kate is steeped in the tradition and heritage of Fortnum’s, having joined the business in 1985. Kate has led a programme of refurbishment and regeneration at the Piccadilly store and has steered the company to greatly improved financial performance. Kate has a passion for artisan production and is a keen supporter of British craftsmanship. She is a trustee of the Garfield Weston Foundation and a director of Wittington Investments. Kate is married with a daughter and four sons.
The QEST Trustees each undertake a balance of responsibilities divided between strategic direction, governance, oversight and fundraising. We’re pleased to welcome Kate and look forward to working with her as she brings her experience, insight and advocacy for exceptional craft and artisanship.
