Into the Dark Woods: A reimagining of seven classic fairy tales

In Into the Dark Woods, Su Blackwell has reimagined seven classic fairy tales: Vasilisa the Brave, Aschenputtel, Beauty and the Beast, Donkeyskin, The Six Swans, The Red Shoes and Bluebeard; rewriting the stories for an adult audience and choosing tales that offer her readers a sense of hope and enlightenment.

The book is illustrated with rich photographs of Su’s fantastical paper art creations.

As an accompaniment, Su has also provided a generous compendium, The Making of the Talismans in Into the Dark Woods, containing seven paper-cut-out templates with step-by-step photographic instructions, showing you how to make your own paper objects or ‘talismans’ that feature in the tales.
