Gayle Cooper is a freelance Artworker, currently working within the UK Film and TV industry in ‘Creature Effects’ and Make Up. Gayles QEST scholarship allowed her to take a course in Wig Making at the UK Wig School under the Tutilidge of ‘Miss Rosa’ a master wig maker for over 25 years.
The course had a focus on Hair Replacement, designed to provide a service for people suffering from medical hair-loss, something which Gayle hopes to focus on moving forward. Since completing the course in October 2013 Gayle has had opportunity to provide specialist hair-work on a number of exciting film and TV projects (due for release next year.) And has been asked to provide demonstrations for Students at the ‘Neill Gorton Prosthetic Studio’ in Hair Knotting.
Wig Making is a skill that takes years to fully learn and develop, so while using all her free time to practice and hone her skills in traditional wig making and postiche techniques, Gayle is also using these skills to explore further projects such as bespoke miniature wigs for Puppets or Doll Collectors and Art-Wigs.
