Abigail is a self-taught ceramic sculptor who is known for her large, bold sculptures that “refuse to be ignored.” Through her work, Abigail tells a story that is inevitably linked to the problems faced by mankind, often working with large numbers of objects creating installation works.
She has been working with clay for 27 years and now wants to push her craft to the next level, incorporating new materials into her work such as wood, plaster and resins. A QEST Scholarship will allow Abigail to study a one-year Masters in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art to master the use of these new materials.
She hopes to produce more ambitious work with her newly acquired skills, steering her in a new direction.
