Daniel is a Norfolk based sculptor and letter carver who produces highly carved memorials, one-off commemorative plaques and conceptual sculptures. In 2009 his QEST Scholarship allowed him to receive advanced tuition from Teucer Wilson, Britain’s foremost letter carver and memorial sculptor.
Since receiving his QEST Scholarship Daniel has work on many projects including carving a York stone plaque to commemorate the Queen’s Coronation Festival (now on permanent display at Buckingham Palace). He gained the City & Guilds Highly Commended Award for stone carving and letter cutting, and completed a Foundation Degree at The Prince’s Drawing School where he studied calligraphy and lettering design.
He has worked on many of the country’s major restoration projects, including St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and was a member of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s stonemasonry and letter carving team for many years, responsible for restoring First and Second World War monuments across the country.
