2003 QEST Scholar - Book Conservation

Elizabeth is the Programme Manager for Artefacts Conservation at the Antarctic Heritage Trust (AHT) in New Zealand.  After completing a Postgraduate Diploma in the Conservation of Archive and Library Materials and spending four years at the British Library, Lizzie worked as Senior Book Conservator at the National Library of New Zealand, conserving rare printed books and early newspaper and periodical collections. She then began a six month contract with the AHT conserving paper and books from the Scott 1910-13 Terra Nova expedition, before becoming Programme Manager.  High profile conservation projects have included Shackleton’s forgotten whisky and the Ross Sea Party negatives. Lizzie is also Vice-President of the Lyttelton Museum Historical Society.
