Eugenie is a skilled cello player who studied at the Paris Conservatoire and the Schola Cantorum before studying violin making and repairs at London Metropolitan University, from which she graduated in 2005 with distinction. Next she trained at a variety of London workshops, such as J.P.Guivier and F.Leonhard, and did a repair and restoration apprenticeship with Peter Ratcliff in Brighton for three years. Her QEST Scholarship supported her during her final year of training with Mr. Ratcliff.
Eugenie opened her workshop in 2009 and has the facilities to restore, maintain, and restore all instruments in the violin family, which includes violins, violas, celli and basses, as well as their bows. She undertakes all aspects of repairs, major restoration, sound adjustments, making, appraisals and dealing of instruments and bows of the violin family. Eugenie also teaches the repair and restoration unit to the Viol making students at West Dean College in Chichester, and has worked for the Royal Collection.
