Ilaria is passionate about arts and heritage conservation and has experience as an assistant conservator of decorated architectural surfaces. She obtained an MSc in Professional Conservation from Cardiff University in 2021 and now wants to build on this experience by further specialising in wall painting conservation.
The QEST Scholarship will fund Ilaria’s MA in Wall Painting Conservation at the Courtauld Institute of Art. After this practice-based training, she aims to establish herself as a conservation professional in the UK. Her longer term goal is to become an independent conservator, collaborating with international conservation institutions and participating in research and education.
