Janet was the founder of The Cloth Clinic, a company which crafted woven metals. She produced metal textiles using photo-laser and ultrasound technology to alter the texture of copper, stainless steel and phosphor bronze and change their metallic hues into brilliant colours.
Janet’s QEST Scholarship allowed her to spend four weeks visiting two factories in Germany and Switzerland which specialise in wire weaving using power looms. She patented a revolutionary laser dyeing system for cutting pollution in the textile trade and was awarded an MBE in 2010. Janet has now retired.
