Kirsten Walsh

2013 QEST Tallow Chandlers' Company Scholar - Wood & Stone Conservation
Surrey

After completing a BA in Fine Art Painting, Kirsten went on to work as a scenic artist at the National Theatre and in the West End and film industry. In the course of this work she was often required to reproduce historical paint finishes and enjoyed researching original techniques. This led to her studying with a view to working in the field of conservation and restoration, supported by QEST.

During the course of her studies Kirsten had the opportunity to work on many exciting conservation projects including work at Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Charterhouse. She subsequently completed an internship with The Royal Collection in the gilding and decorative surfaces departments.
