Tessa Mackenzie

2020 QEST Prince's Foundation Scholar - Stained Glass

Tessa is a freelance illustrator and designer who utilises the medium of stained glass to convey her ideas. Tessa’s practice has a focus on narrative storytelling, mostly within the realm of comics and observational studies. She recognises that for the majority the medium of stained glass is often only every experienced with religious connotations.

Tessa is currently studying on the Building Arts Programme 2020, run in collaboration with the Prince’s Foundation.  Through the programme she hopes to apply her knowledge of design semiotics, illustrative observational skills and structure of narrative to captivate and enhance the viewers engagement with the built environment.
