Weave a willow bag or rucksack with Annemarie O’Sullivan

On this three day course you will learn how to make a shoulder bag OR more experienced makers can make a backpack for rural or urban foraging. Take time learning each step whether you are a seasoned maker or a beginner.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Day 1: On day one you will start by making the base of your bag or backpack, either making a Catalan base or Scallomed.
Day 2: On day two you will develop different weaves for building the sides of a backpack or shoulder bag
and learn how to shape your basket so that it sits comfortably against your body
Day 3: By day three your bag or backpack will be nearly finished, you will have time to concentrate on the border and cutting and attaching straps/handles to your work.

WHO IS THIS SUITABLE FOR:
This course is suitable for beginners and those who have had some experience of basket weaving. Beginners will make bags and in order to complete a backpack you will need to have made a minimum of 5 willow baskets previously.
