Eco Print and Dye with Sarah Diver Lang

Explore the alchemy of natural dyeing and block printing in this three-day eco printed textiles workshop. Spread over three consecutive days, this comprehensive eco printing and dying course will take you through the processes of designing and carving your own lino block and using it to print. Learn how to prepare your fabric for dying in baths of natural substances such as madder, weld and indigo. Then you’ll formulate natural iron inks and use them to create a stunning repeat print on sustainably sourced Scottish silk hemp. You’ll come away your eco printed textiles workshop not only with a comprehensive understanding of a range of new processes, but also a beautifully printed envelope cushion that you have coloured, printed and crafted from scratch with your own fair hands.

Tea, coffee and treats are provided but please bring your own lunch. All our workshops are suitable for participants of age 16 or over.
