Japanese Cherry Blossom Embroidery Workshop with Auburn Claire Lucas

May 18th 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Japanese Cherry Blossom season begins in the middle of March and lasts through to May creating a pandemonium of pink petals all over the country. Dedicated followers can track the progress via the 2021 blossom forecast and early indications are that the cherry blossoms will  open a few days earlier than normal..

Join Auburn to create your own beautiful version of the iconic Japanese Cherry Blossom whilst getting to grips with French Knots, Japanese Knots along with creative Goldwork couching.

Worked on blue cotton, this is a simple but stunning embroidery kit that covers 3 techniques. The aim is to repeat the three stitches teaching you to be accurate and consistent when stitching, whilst being creative at the same time!

Though they look similar the Japanese and French Knots are worked very differently! Which will you prefer?

When finished, a 5″ hoop is included in your kit so you can mount your beautiful embroidery.

There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.

The stitches covered in this class and more can be found on the RSN Stitchbank.

The class kit will be posted out to you. Your kit includes everything you need including a full colour, step by step instruction booklet. The only things you’ll need are an 8” ring frame and embroidery scissors. It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes.

Please note that this is an online class. Please click here to view important joining information about online classes.
