Marchmont Studios are pleased to announce their second ‘Open Studios’ weekend for 2022: Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 August.

Resident and visiting artists – including QEST Howdens Scholar and printmaker Theadora Ballantyne-Way – will introduce themselves and showcase their work.

There will also be a ‘Makers Market’ featuring a variety of local makers selling their work and food and drink stalls. QEST will also have a display, joined by QEST Johnnie Walker Scholar, Scholar Ambassador and ceramicist Frances Priest, so do come say hello.

Entry is free but tickets should be booked in advanced here, and you are asked to consider making a voluntary donation of £3 per visitor to Marchmont Makers Foundation to support artist residencies and local community projects.

Car parking is available 250m away.

On the same day, why note join one of Marchmont’s outdoor sculpture tours – read more here.

Marchmont House is an imposing ‘Grade A’ listed Palladian mansion built in 1750 and contains some of the finest Georgian and Arts & Crafts interiors in Scotland.  The goal is now to bring the house alive as ‘a home to Makers and Creators’, celebrating innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. The house and grounds are only open to the public for a limited number of days each year, for tours and special events.
