Angela studied bookbinding and restoration at Camberwell College in 1980 before working at the National Archives, initially as an archive conservator and later as a book conservator. After a mid-career internship with Chris Clarkson at West Dean College, she studied for an MA in the History of the Book at the University of London. She spent 14 years working for the National Archives and she is now Senior Conservator at Senate House Library, University of London.
